One in four women will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime. Police respond to one incident of domestic abuse every 16 minutes. For every incident, we know the impact on women and children living with domestic abuse can be devastating.

Over the last twelve months, Women’s Aid ABCLN Domestic Abuse Specialists have supported over 725 children and young people living with domestic abuse across Antrim, Ballymena, Carrickfergus, Larne and Newtownabbey.

Our skilled team work with ALL schools across the area to provide one to one therapeutic and emotional support for children experiencing trauma and abuse; group work and courses including Heading for Healthy Relationships and Bully Busters; Social Guardian Training and the Safe School initiative; and support for teachers responding to Operation Encompass.

We believe that no-one should have to live in fear or threat from abuse.
