Cornerstone laid for children and young people’s support centre

Women’s Aid in Antrim, Ballymena, Carrickfergus, Larne and Newtownabbey are delighted with the start of work on their new centre for children and young people – their ‘Cornerstone’ building.

The centre and services will support children and young people who have experienced abuse in the home and will complement the Safe Haven Garden.  The charity will continue to run their ‘Make it Better’ campaign to raise funds to support the centre and sustain the services being provided.

The building has been provided through the generosity of funders, including PSNI, NHSCT, Ulster Garden Villages, Garfield Weston, Enkalon and the Make It Better campaign.

Robin Park, the Architect who designed the building laid the cornerstone.

Anyone experiencing domestic violence can access support by calling the 24hr Domestic Violence Helpline on 0800 917 1414.
