Marks & Spencer’s choses Women’s Aid as local store charity of the year

Women’s Aid Antrim, Ballymena, Carrickfergus, Larne & Newtownabbey (ABCLN) are delighted to announce that Marks & Spencer’s of Junction One Antrim have chosen us as their local store charity of the year.

Marks & Spencer’s charity committee stated; ‘We are pleased to be supporting Women’s Aid who provide vital services in the local area to Women and Children who have been affected by Domestic Violence’.

Ruth Owen, Fundraising Co-ordinator with Women’s Aid said, ‘We would like to thank Marks & Spencer’s for choosing Women’s Aid as their local store charity of the year. The money raised will help sustain the Make It Better Project, supporting local children and young people who have been affected by Domestic Violence.’

The Make It Better project provides emotional and practical support to children and young people whose education has been affected by domestic violence. Constant change, disruption and violence in a young person’s life can make school a real challenge and diminish their ability to engage. Young people are the hidden victims of domestic violence and are significantly at risk of school dropout, exclusion and risk taking behaviours.

Anyone experiencing domestic violence can access support by calling the 24hr Domestic & Sexual Violence Helpline on 0808 802 1414.
