JC Dental show their colours for children and young people’s ‘Make It Better’ Appeal
Jennifer Christie Dental Surgery recently participated in a Colour Run in aid of Women’s Aid’s Make It Better Appeal raising £900.

Jennifer Christie, from JC Dental explained why they wanted to support the local charity, ‘Women’s Aid helps so many woman, children and young people who have been affected by domestic violence in the local area. We are pleased to be supporting the Make It Better Appeal which aims primarily works children and young people who have suffered domestic violence.’
Ruth Owen, Fundraising Co-ordinator with Women’s Aid ABCLN was delighted with the fundraising effort, ‘We would like to thank all the staff at JC Dental for fundraising for the Make It Better Appeal, fundraising is a vital source to sustain our services and we thank the continued support of the local community’.
The funds raised will help to provide emotional and practical support to children and young people whose education has been affected by domestic violence. Constant change, disruption and violence in a young person’s life can make school a real challenge and diminish their ability to engage. Young people are the hidden victims of domestic violence and are significantly at risk of school dropout, exclusion and risk taking behaviours.
Anyone experiencing domestic violence can also access support by calling the 24hr Domestic & Sexual Violence Helpline on 0808 802 1414.
