Women’s Aid Antrim, Ballymena, Carrickfergus, Larne & Newtownabbey (ABCLN)  recognise the fundraising contributions of the participants who took part in the Crusaders football club girls tournament on Sunday 6th July raising over £600.00 for the Make It Better Appeal.

Elaine Roden who has been involved with the club for over 20years and organiser of the event commented; ‘We are pleased to be supporting a service to children and young people in the local area who have been affected by domestic violence. I would like to thank all participants, supporters and volunteers for taking part in the event and an extended thank you goes out to Crusaders football club, Crusaders Strikers, Seaview Enterprises and Tesco’s Northcott for sponsoring the event.  In addition, the Irish FA Football for providing their Interface Cage to provide fun games for the girls in between their matches.’

Ruth Owen, Fundraising Co-ordinator with Women’s Aid ABCLN said, ‘Women’s Aid ABCLN would like to thank Crusaders FC and Crusaders Strikers for all their fundraising efforts. The funds raised will help to provide emotional and practical support to children and young people whose education has been affected by domestic violence. Without the invaluable support from the local community we would not be able to continue providing these services.’
